Recap Nathan Henricks

Nathan Hendricks, creative director at Cincinnati-based design firm LPK, visited BG to talk with us about the principles for a life in design. Nathan ran through his ‘Designer Code’ which consisted of six sections: Tell the Truth, Making Meaning, Represent People, Spread Beauty, Instill Courage, and Invest in Women.

Next, Nathan talks about keys to extraordinary design. This consists of Gut Appeal, Vengeance, Power, Prestige, Anchor, Twist, and Ownability.

The overall tone of the lecture was centered around the idea that the world needs you, even if they don’t know it, and you need to get better.

Nathan parted with some words of wisdom: have the confidence to create excellence.
